Ahoy! Welcome

"So many of our dreams at first seems impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable." ~ Christopher Reeve

Strewth! Most inescapably and most certainly, this is just what happened :)

NEWCASTLE STORE RENOVATED AND RE-OPENED!

It started as a dream. And then it grew - from years, to months in more dreaming, organising and preparing, and intense days in planning, tracking down, making and installing... and eventually, our dream materialised before our eyes. Our Newcastle store is now renovated and re-opened!

Welcome to High Tea with Mrs Woo
of clothiers and artisans,
woven tales and homely goods;
of linen, slate, wood and clay,
love and blisters, tea and sisters.

Leave the street and step into a different time, slow up. A place where you hold things in your hands - a thought, a moment, a scent, a light. Beautiful, useful, everyday things - from skilled hands to your hands.

We're very glad to have taken this time to refresh, and so proud to to have been in business in this same location for 12 years. It was such a dream to re-sand and reveal the natural beauty of our 1930s floorboards, shop counter and display cabinets, design and make a stunning set of modern shelving, brackets, drawers and seating, hand-bind our racks in leather and install re-worked vintage mirrors and miniature crates to create our dream interior space. Most of it put together with our very own hands. It's been such a labour-intensive but rewarding and wonderful process to learn and appreciate working with other materials other than textiles.

Come take a little time out with Mrs Woo and you'll see... and touch, and smell, and feel.

THANK YOU. Our beautiful-store-dreams could not have come true without the love, patience, wonderful help, skills and talents of Matthew Travis, Sean O'Connell, and most especially Benjamin Gallagher for design collaboration and creation.

"I'll try anything once, twice if I like it, three times to make sure." ~ Mae West

Well, we do like our Paddington store. And three years on, we're liking it Mae West style :)

POP-IN ARTISANS About...

POP-IN ARTISANS is a very wonderful project we came up with back in Nov 2011 and it continues to blossom and grow.

This exciting retail collaboration is about us sharing parts of our beautiful store with fellow makers, designers and artisans that resonate with our own philosophy and approaches to making, as well as complimenting our sentiments and designs. It's an interesting way to generate awareness for artisans and homegrown designers, and to find many new homes for all our thoughtfully crafted work.

*Each Pop-In Artisan is only in-store for 4-6 weeks so don't dilly-dally or you'll miss them..!
