ORIGIN Japan
Crafted from Seto porcelain, also known as Tamba-tachikui ware is a form of pottery produced around Konda in the city of Sasayama, Hyogo prefecture. It carries a legacy of over 850 years. The Tamba kiln, one of Japan's six ancient kilns, has been used since the Heian period and is still run by two generations of artisans. The unique texture is created as pinewood ash from the kiln naturally fuses with the clay and glaze during firing.
An innovative collaboration of incense manufacturer Daihatsu Co. (eat 1867) and Kobe Match Co. (eat 1937), HIBI is a self-striking incense stick created as a beautiful new way of "connecting Japan and the World through the spirit of the enjoyment of fragrance."
