ABOUT SASHIKO.LAB
Kazue Yoshikawa is an expert and teacher of sashiko (刺し子) - a traditional Japanese embroidery technique of stitching white thread on indigo-dyed fabric which is passed down through generations. This type of stitching is used for decorative, as well as functional reinforcement of cloth and clothing. Based in Kyoto Japan, Kazue runs an intimate studio atelier that is focused on preserving and showcasing this art form.
